A business director from Woodford Green has been given a six month suspended jail sentence for flouting court orders to run his company.

David Robert Shannon, of Denehurst Gardens, also received 150 hours of unpaid work at Snaresbrook Crown Court last month.

The 50-year-old had breached a disqualification by managing Joseph and Webb properties from 2007 to 2010. Fellow director Jason Webb, 39, of Clapton, was sentenced to 150 hours community service for failing to keep books and records.

After the company went into administration in August 2010, Shannon and Webb failed to co-operate with the administrators, and were fined £5,000 each.

Deputy chief investigation officer Ian West, from the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, said: “These defendants cynically breached the law and ignored their obligations.”
