A member of staff at Nordens Chartered Accountants, based in Roding Lane South, Woodford Green, channelled his inner Jose Mourinho when he took on a football coaching lesson for youngsters at Beal High School in Redbridge over the Easter holidays.

Mitch Hahn, a 30-year-old Chigwell resident who is a partner at Nordens, is a former footballer who couldn’t wait to sink his teeth into the opportunity to lace up his boots once more and help out Nordens client Foundation Sports at a training session.

Based in Ilford, Foundation Sports work with schools across London to ensure that children from all backgrounds have access to training equipment and facilities.

Mitch said: “To truly understand your client’s business, you need to see more than a business plan and financial projections, you need to take a walk in their shoes.

“By going undercover the partners and I get a real taste of how a business operates and that informs future decisions. It’s an invaluable business tool for us.”

Founded by Mark Norden back in 2002, Nordens has managed a 30pc year-on-year growth this year, which members of staff mostly attribute to the accountancy firm’s constant desire to try new things to improve the service it provides its customers.

The event at Beal High School was the first in a series of exercises that will see the company’s employees gain practical experience with some of their clients to better learn about their unique business needs.

Mitch was wearing a Foundation Sports tracksuit at the event and, as far as the lucky youngsters were concerned, was just another member of staff.

Foundation Sports’ managing director Tony Charles has been a Nordens client for more than a decade, and says events like this are typical of the company’s approach.
