A 42-year-old woman was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital with neck pain following a collision in Gants Hill on Sunday afternoon.
The crash involved a silver Renault Megane and blue Peugeot in Beehive Lane at about 2.30pm.
A witness, who dialled 999, said: “There was a big bang so we went running out. There was a blue car which had spun round and went backwards into a brick wall.”
The witness said one of the cars had four people inside but all walked away unhurt. A woman had to be cut out of the other car by fire crews.
“The emergency services were absolutely amazing, they really pulled out all the stops,” the witness added.
