Witnesses sought after ‘unknown substance’ thrown in victim’s face in Woodford Green

A man in his 50s was rushed to hospital after two men allegedly threw an “unknown substance” in his face in Woodford Green.

The incident occurred at around 8.50pm last Friday night on Waltham Road in Woodford Green.

Police were called to the scene by the London Ambulance Service to reports that a 53-year-old man had been injured after an unknown substance was thrown in his face.

Detectives from Redbridge are investigating and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the assault, or who saw the suspects - described as two black men - running from the scene.

The victim was taken to an east London hospital for treatment to his injuries and has since been discharged.

There have been no arrests and inquiries continue.
