A 19-year-old supermarket worker has described his anger towards a driver who “showed little concern” after his car hit a mother-of-two before ploughing into a wall in Chadwell Heath.

Leighton Price, of Billet Road, Little Heath, was walking to work when he saw a Porsche Carrera career off the road and hit a 34-year-old woman as she walked along Chadwell Heath Lane, on Wednesday of last week.

He said: “I heard a loud breaking noise behind meand I could see a car trying to take control. It all happened so quick and this woman was thrown 5ft into the air.

“I shouted for someone to call an ambulance and I went over and tried to keep her talking. She was in a lot of pain and her leg looked quite disfigured.”

He added: “I felt really shocked and angry towards the driver as he had shown little concern after it had happened. He just sat on a wall and lit a cigarette”

The woman hit by the car suffered multiple injuries, but they were not life threatening or life changing, police said.

No one has been arrested over the accident.
