When do the clocks go forward in 2016?

PUBLISHED: 17:44 21 March 2016 | UPDATED: 17:44 21 March 2016

This alarm clock takes no prisoners when it comes to criminal over-sleepers. Theres no snooze option; instead it lets out a piercing wail and shoots the propeller into the air. Youll need to catch it and put it back in the machine to turn off the noise. It wont make you popular with your neighbours and you run the risk of tripping over something in the dark as you stumble round your room, but as a last resort for chronic lateness it might be worth it.

British Summer Time (BST) starts this weekend when the clocks change – and will hopefully bring with it some warmer weather.

And while the prospect of losing an extra hour of sleep is never welcome, this year it takes place on Easter Sunday – meaning at least the nation has bank holiday Monday to recover.

The UK swaps to BST on Sunday (March 27) at 1am, which means you should put your clock forward an hour from then.

Most mobile phones and radio-controlled clocks will do this automatically.
