A faith group which contributed to improving race relations after the Woolwich attacks and the London riots celebrated its 10th anniversary last week.
Redbridge Faith Forum held a social dinner at Sahan Restaurant, Clements Road, Ilford, which was attended by several of the borough’s dignitaries, including the leader of the council.
After the riots and the Woolwich attacks, the forum worked with mosques in the area and did community workshops to encourage positive inter-faith relations.
Organiser Shamshia Ali, who has worked at the forum for two-and-a-half years, said: “Our proudest achievement is that we’ve reached greater unity, better understanding and increased harmony amongst other faiths.”
