Feeling down about how many of your new year’s resolutions you managed to keep? Your chance to get that marathon you always wanted to do done, is on offer and organisers say you will not find a cheaper way to do it.

The Dawn until Dusk run will put you through your paces and even if you don’t manage to make the marathon mark, a medal will be waiting for you at the end.

The run is being arranged by Sikhs in the City which organises the country’s most multicultural runs in the country, according to its founder.

Harmander Singh, 54, of Ilford, said: “It’s a way of fulfilling those New Year’s resolutions which you might have not so far got done. Here’s year last chance, it will help lots of charities and it’s fantastic value for money. It’s a good family day out.”

The run will take place on December 21 starting at sunrise (8.04am) and finishing at sunset (3.53pm) but registration forms must be in by Thursday (28).

So far he said that most of the people who have signed up so far are women aged over 40, with the eldest being 63-years-old.

“It’s a flexible run so you can walk, jog or run around the two kilometre lap as fast, or as slowly, as you wish,” he said.

Everyone who enters will get an e-goodie bag with vouchers for local businesses.

Harmander said: “It’s one of our series of races that we organise and do about seven a year and have people coming from as far away as Bristol.”

Also taking part is Paralympic goalball star Louise Simpson who is training for the London Marathon next summer.

If you are not ready for a full marathon you can do a 10 kilometre run or a half marathon.

Anyone feeling particularly spritely can take on the ultra marathon which is 25 laps of the two kilometre route which starts at Roding Lane South, Redbridge.
