A Wanstead pub will look the part during the Olympic Games thanks to an exhibition of work by local artists.
Art Group Wanstead has contributed fine art paintings and abstract works which will show in The George in High Street Wanstead from Monday until after the Paralympics.
It includes sports-themed wallpaper designs by artist Emily Dupen and photos showing how the Olympics has transformed Stratford in east London taken by Dr Patrick Green.
Jim Morton, the pub’s manager, said: “I’m delighted to be able to help local artists show their work.” Other Olympics inspired work will be shown during the Wanstead Festival on August 12 and at the George during the Art Trail Wanstead which runs September 15 to 30.
A fuller selection of Dr Green’s photos are being shown at Wanstead Library in Spratt Hall Road from August 13 to 30.
