This image of Wanstead Flats captures its “eerie and other worldly atmosphere”, according to one photographer.

Barry Chapman, 52, took this on a misty morning on Sunday.

He told the Recorder: “I took this shot with my phone in the Plantation Wood area of Wanstead Flats, when the morning was very misty.”

Barry, a keen amateur photographer from Forest Gate, explained he is often out in the southern most point of Epping Forest, off Park Road, Wanstead, with his camera.

He continued: “With the mist surrounding the area, the wood took on an eerie other worldly atmosphere.

“I like to take photos of every aspect of life on the Flats, this includes sunrises, sunsets, birds, insects and flora.”
