Just days after London’s biggest ever grass fire tore through Wanstead Flats, firefighters have sprung into action to tackle a third blaze on the grasslands in a little over a week.

Firefighters were called to a fire on the Flat’s just off Bush Road at 4.47pm.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters are on the scene as around two acres of scrub and woodland are alight.

Fire crews from Leytonstone, Homerton, Leyton and Stratford fire stations are at the scene.
