A Wanstead actress who is a waitress on Channel 4’s First Dates is hoping to bring love to the area with her own speed dating event.
Charlotte Knowles, 27, has lived in Wanstead for the last eight years, and has appeared alongside maitre d’ Fred Sirieix in the latest series of the Channel 4 favourite.
She is hoping to help others in the area find love, and is going to host her first speed dating event at the Manor House pub on Thursday, August 9.
Daters will be greeted with a glass of prosecco on arrival and will be matched on age and similar interests.
It is open for all ages to take part, as Charlotte said that she thinks that everyone should be able to find love.
“I’ve seen people find real love on the TV show and I want to help other people find real love in Wanstead too.
“I know how nervous and anxious people sometimes get before events like this so we will be playing a number of games and fun stuff so that everyone feels nice and relaxed.
“Fingers crossed we help people find their Mr or Mrs Right” said the actress who lives in Harrier Avenue.
Charlotte is the latest addition to the show and is one of five waiters/waitresses in the First Dates restaurant.
She started filming in March last year but had to keep it a secret until September when the first episode aired.
Other members of the team include Laura Tott, CiCi Coleman, Sam Conrad and Austin Ventour.
She trained at the Guildford School of Acting, where she was chosen to perform at the prestigious Spotlight Prize Awards in London.
The speed dating event will start at 7.30pm at The Manor House Pub, High Street, Wanstead on Thursday, August 9 and tickets will cost £15 which will include a glass of prosecco.
