Children and teachers learned how to sign to raise funds for a deaf children’s charity.

Glade Primary School, Atherton Road, Clayhall, took part in the annual Sign2sing event where more than 400 people signed to the song Friends Forever, in aid of the charity SignHealth.

Pupils have been taught how to sign in their music lessons for the past few months and showed off what they had learned in their assembly this week.

The school raised more than £150 for the charity.

Davida Robinson, music teacher, said: “It was a great day that everybody seemed to really enjoy.

“It’s a good skill to have and the money is going to a worthy cause.”
