Police have confirmed a person has died after been hit by a train at Ilford station this afternoon.
An ambulance crew and an air ambulance doctor were called to the scene at 12.45pm today, but the person, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.
A statement on train operator National Express East Anglia website reads:
“There are delays of up to 60 minutes through Ilford. These delays are expected to last until approximately 3pm.”
