Two fire engines were called to an Ilford street yesterday after a garage caught alight.
Crews from Ilford and Barking took around 20 minutes to extinguish the fire in Connaught Road which was reported at 2.30pm.
A spokesman for Ilford Fire Station said: “The garage had tyres in it so there was quite a lot of black smoke
“The fire had spread to nearby fences and took about 20 minutes to get under control.”
The cause is being investigated.
