Comedian Terry Alderton joined nearly 80 other golf players to brave the wind and rain for a charity match in aid of Hainault charity The Dream Factory on Friday.
The day at Woolston Manor Golf Club, in Abridge Road, Chigwell, raised more than £9,500 for the charity, which grants wishes to young people with life-limiting illnesses and severe disabilities.
Founder Avril Mills started The Dream Factory in 2008 after her son, Oliver, died of leukaemia when he was nine.
It has gone from strength to strength and will soon be granting its 200th dream.
Ms Mills said: “We are ecstatic with the amound of money and support we’ve got and what people have donated.”
As well as the charity golf match, thousands of pounds was raised with an auction of donated prizes, including a signed Tottenham Hotspur shirt and a House of Commons bottle of wine signed by prime minister David Cameron.
One donor paid £1,500 to grant an ill child’s dream to go to theme park Peppa Pig World and Mr Alderton, who is a patron of the charity, entertained guests with a stand-up show.
