Television comedian Christopher Biggins has cheered up children at a Woodford Green hospice.
Known as Biggins, the actor dropped in to see children, families and staff at Haven House, in High Road, on Monday.
The entertainment veteran is best known for his roles in Porridge and Some Mother Do ‘Ave ‘Em.
He said: “I’ve been involved in a couple of Haven House fundraisers recently, so I thought it was high time that I paid a visit.
“It was simply lovely to meet the children and their mums, and to see for myself the amazing work that the hospice does locally.”
Biggins met Haven House children and families, including Yasmin Parsons who is being treated for leukaemia.
Rosemary Rigobert, who met the actor with her five-year-old son Myles, said he made everyone smile.
She added: “We meet a lot of celebrities through Haven House and it is a real morale booster for the parents, children and staff.”
Haven House Children’s Hospice provides care for children and young people who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
