Trust which runs King George Hospital set to publish improvement plan

The trust which runs King George Hospital is due to publish its improvement plan.
The Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust will reveal its objectives early next week.
It was put into special measures in December last year after inspections were carried out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) at King George Hospital and Queen’s Hospital, in Romford, in October.
The CQC found that the accident and emergency services at both hospitals were unsafe; mainly because of a shortage of senior consultants, high demand and capacity issues.
Despite positives such as improvements in maternity, high quality stroke care and considerate staff, the CQC also found problems with discharging patients.
Some were discharged too soon, while others experienced long waits.
