Tributes pour in for Seven Kings schoolgirl who died in bridge fall

Tributes have poured in for a schoolgirl who died after falling from a bridge on to the A12 on Friday.

Messages have been left on the social networking websites Twitter and Facebook, as well as the video sharing website YouTube.

The 16-year-old, who went to The Palmer Catholic Academy, Aldborough Road South, Seven Kings, has been named in tributes as Wendy Maguire.

She fell from a footbridge close to the Green Man Roundabout, on to the A12, at 12.31pm on Friday.

The youngster was confirmed dead at the scene and police are not treating her death as suspicious.

On YouTube, a video showing still images of the teenager in tribute, has had more than 5,000 views.

A tribute page on Facebook called, RIP Wendy Maguire (1995-2012), has been set up.

One posting from Ashy Broad reads: “Canon Palmer has lost a star.”

A Twitter posting by user Mr Dairo reads: “I’ve never spoken to her but I used to see her every day. She was always smiling and bringing happiness to others. RIP Wendy Maguire.”

Another from user darrenlivingswh reads: “Laid flowers for Wendy Maguire today. May you rest in peace. Hope you’re in a better place now.”

A post-mortem is due to take place at Walthamstow Mortuary on either Monday or Tuesday, police have said.

Next of kin have been informed of the death.
