A trial date for a man charged with attempted murder and possession of a shotgun was set at court on Friday.

Joshan Addison, 18 of Thornton Avenue, Ilford, was due to make his first appearance by video link at the Old Bailey in relation to a shooting that occurred on Loxford Lane, Ilford, on Monday, August 8.

As the video-link was not working, a five-day trial date was scheduled in his absence to start on Monday, March 27.

A spokesman for the court said: “A trial date was set as a matter of course. Whether a plea is guilty or not, it is easier to set one than cancel.”

A 22-year-old man and 11-year-old boy were shot after a man allegedly blasted a shotgun in the middle of the day during the height of the school summer holidays.
