Travellers have left vast piles of rubbish behind after moving on from the site of the Recorder’s old offices.

After breaking into the site in High Road, Ilford more than a week ago, the travellers have, according to a company spokesman, left piles of rubbish of “industrial proportions”.

A spokesman for Archant said a court order was obtained yesterday (Weds) which coincided with the travellers leaving.

Security at the site is being stepped up and contractors hired to dispose of the mess.
