Delays are easing after a car fire on the A406 caused long delays through Redbridge.
Smoke engulfed the busy road during morning rush hour and firefighters closed two lanes while they extinguished the blaze on the southbound carriageway.
Traffic was at a standstill between the Redbridge Roundabout and Charlie Brown’s Roundabout in South Woodford.
The lanes are being reopened and traffic, which was queueing back to junction 5 of the M11 and the Cooks Ferry Interchange, is clearing.
