A school kicked off its “science week” activities with the aid of a top television presenter who entertained pupils with an explosive show on Monday.
Fran Scott, who has presented popular BBC children shows Factomania, Newsround, and Absolute Genius with Dick and Dom, loves designing high-impact demonstrations to prove scientific points.
Pupils at Roding Primary School, Roding Lane North, Woodford Green learnt about how strong friction is and also watched a lightbulb be repeatedly bashed about and shot from a cannon without exploding.
Year 6 pupils, Faith Cunningham, 10, said: “We learnt a lot of interesting stuff.”
Sharika Dewan, 11, added: “We love science”.
