Three teenagers enter pleas after Wanstead Flats attack

Three teenagers have appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court following an alleged attack on an off-duty police officer last year.

The male victim, 38, was found stabbed in the arm with human bite marks on his body at Wanstead Flats on September 15.

A 15-year-old girl pleaded not guilty to charges of arson, intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawfully wounding and possession of a knife.

She did plead guilty to possession of cannabis.

A 14-year-old girl pleaded not guilty to a charge of arson, but entered a plea of guilty to her assault charge, which will be dealt with following trial.

A 13-year-old boy pleaded not guilty to a charge of arson, but pleaded guilty to possession of kitchen knife.

All defendants, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear on trial at Romford Magistrates Court on May 12.
