People of all diversities flocked to Redbridge’s Easter Parade on Monday Bank Holiday as part of the “biggest event ever seen” in Ilford town centre.
The procession was begun by Mayor of Redbridge Cllr Felicity Banks who said a short speech and an opening prayer.
Catholic band Ooberfuse, who have performed in front of the Pope at World Youth Day, played a mix of secular and Christian music at the event which went down a hit with the crowd.
Organiser Wilson Chowdhry said: “This is the biggest event I have seen in the town centre.
“All day long people streamed through, literally thousands of visitors came out to celebrate the Easter Bank Holiday.”
Ilford Tamil Church in Ilford Lane, provided dancers and also produced bilingual gospel music.
