Fans of the show saw Rachel, 25, of Wolsley Gardens, and Mr Ireland, Karl Bowe, on their three-day date on the hit series last week.

And even though both enjoyed their rendezvous on the Island of Fernando – or Tenerife, as it is better known – neither fancy crossing the Irish Sea just yet to make things more serious.

“My friends thought he was gorgeous,” said Rachel. “My mum met him and fell in love with him, but I said I am not leaving.”

The dance teacher added she felt “very fortunate” because he was “such a good date”.

She added: “Some of the blokes [on the show] are not nice to the girls – it is luck of the draw.”

Rachel has seen the Irish actor since the show and keeps in touch with him.
“We just spent the weekend together at a cast reunion in Manchester,” she said.

“Karl came back to stay in Barkingside afterwards. We know that we cannot be together – it is like a holiday romance.”

Although Rachel has no plans to spend Valentines Day with Karl, she said: “I am expecting a card!”
