Synagogue raises funds while celebrating Burns Night

Perfect poems and wonderful whisky made one Burns night celebration in Newbury Park particularly perfect.

South West Essex and Settlement Reform Synagogue in Oaks Lane raised money for the synagogue funds while celebrating Scottish culture.

The colourful cultural evening had a special meaning for Rabbi Nancy Morris and her Scottish husband, Jim Jarvie.

In true tradition haggis was also served up, although it was vegetarian.

Poems were read and toasts were made and Rabbi Nancy Morris conducted grace.
