Children at Haven House Hospice enjoyed a special performance of the classic fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Sixth formers from Woodford County High School, in High Road, Woodford Green, were given a £500 grant from the Mark Evison Foundation to put on their own version of the story last Friday.

The Mark Evison Foundation is a charity that funds young people to carry out challenging non-academic projects.

The show was performed, written and set-designed by five year 12 students from the all girls’ school, Karishma Desai, Zobya Hussein, Imisioluwa Omotade, Mareeha Zaman, and Noor Chughtai, who said they “wanted to gift the children with this rare opportunity”.

Charlotte Terry, head of community engagement at Haven House, said: “The children love music and lights and the general feeling of something different happening and it held their attention until (almost!) the end.”
