Dedications to lost loved ones were written on special memory stars at an annual service by a hospice.

South West Essex and Settlement Reform Synagogue in Oaks Lane, Newbury Park held the service with St Francis Hospice to celebrate, reflect and remember loved ones.

The annual Light up a Life Service is open to anyone regardless of religious beliefs and was held on Saturday.

The synagogue has worked with the charity since the 1980s and their new rabbi Nancy Morris recently visited to meet staff and volunteers.

The charity, which is based in Romford but covers Redbridge, provides care to anyone with life-limiting illnesses free of charge.
