Pupils and staff at Oakdale Junior School were presented with a defibrillator on Friday, which will serve the “whole community”.
Danny Hyde, from Loughton based company Emergency First Aid Ltd, presented the life saving piece of equipment to headteacher Jennifer Berriman.
Funds for the defibrillator were raised after parents and teachers at the school in Oakdale Road, South Woodford, completed a number of tough activities including long distance bike rides, runs and swims.
Mr Hyde said: “Thanks to all the parents and staff who contributed to this important cause.”
