On Saturday (December 1) it is small business Saturday and community group Sophia Hubs is organising a timebank event were residents can trade in skills and time, rather than money.

Held at Redbridge Central Library between 1pm and 3pm, participants can join any of the five, one-hour workshops including how to use Twitter, herbs for health, book keeping and business start-up advice.

There will also be networking opportunities and participants will be able to hear from five small local businesses offering their time and skills.

A spokesman for Sophia Hubs said: “The reason why we feel it’s important to have sharing events like this is because business success, particularly small business success, is around your networks and contacts and having the help you need to succeed.

“The timebank is a way of both bringing together community people and businesses and to help and support each other.”
