A lack of Sikh chaplains in hospitals led to a special training day being held at a gurdwara in Seven Kings on Saturday.
The training and information workshop at the Gurdwara Singh Sabha, High Road, covered topics including what chaplaincy departments do and how to become involved as a volunteer.
Mankamal Singh, gurdwara treasurer, said: “Many hospitals don’t really have many Sikh volunteers so it’s about getting volunteers to get that gap filled.”
