Seven Kings Library has re-opened after heavy rains caused severe water damage forcing it to close last week.

The branch closed on Tuesday, July 31 for two days while emergency repairs were carried out on the building’s leaking roof.

The library opened with a full service just two days later on Thursday, August 2 with all services running as usual.

Council leader Jas Athwal said: “We recognise that there will be residents who would have missed out on their activities on Tuesday and Wednesday due to this short closure of Seven Kings Library and we apologise for any inconvenience that it may have caused.

“We are working with the landlord to ensure the necessary repairs are complete so that this 
issue is avoided in the future and we 
encourage all residents to visit their local library to take part in the great programmes on 
offer for the whole family.”
