The father of a contestant on Channel 4 reality programme Big Brother is pleading for votes from the public to keep his son on the show.

Pav Paul has been put up for nomination and will be facing the public vote tonight in a live eviction.

His dad Tejinder Singh Paul, 53, of Seven Kings said: “I hope the people who watch the show will be able to see his fun-loving nature and will want him to stay in the house so he can make it to the final.”

Pav, 22, entered the famous Big Brother house as a late-comer, alongside singer Zoe Birkett and boisterous Bianca Lake, but he is now the only one left of the newcomers still in.

Tejinder said: “When Bianca came in, I was shocked and a little embarrassed that my son could be in a show with someone like that in there. My own dad was watching and he didn’t like her in there either, but thankfully she left pretty quickly!”

When Pav applied for the show, he decided not to tell his family but when he was told that there was a possibility that he would be chosen to go in, he told his mum and dad everything.

Tejinder said: “When he told us, he said his reasons for going into the show was that he wanted to have a fun experience, for his own growth as a person and to bring a sense of harmony to the house by trying to unite everyone.

“I didn’t completely understand why he wanted to go into the show but we fully support him and want him to go all the way.”

The final will be taking place in a couple of weeks time and Pav’s friends and family are crossing their fingers that he will still be there.

Tejinder said: “I just want everyone to remember it is a vote to evict so don’t vote Pav, and to remember that he is a funny, kind, and cheeky guy that just wants to have a good time.”

The Big Brother live eviction is on Channel 5 tonight at 9pm.
