These schoolchildren from the borough proudly display their hats and baskets they handmade last week ahead of the Ilford Easter Parade on Easter Monday.

The creations will also all be entered into a prize draw to win goodies including jumbo Easter eggs, provided by the Ilford Business Improvement District (BID).

The Redbridge Easter Parade and Festival Team held three free art workshops at the Clementswood Community Centre, Connaught Road in Ilford, last week to help the primary schools, including Highlands Primary in Highland Gardens, Ilford, Cleveland School in Cleveland Road, Ilford, SS Peter’s and Paul’s in Gordon Road, Ilford, Winston Way Primary School in Winston Way, Ilford, design their items.

Wilson Chowdhry, the event manager of the Easter Parade, said: “We want to get across this message of hope and peace.

“Originally we were only going to hold it on Monday and Tuesday but because we had interest from so many families we extended it to three days.

“They had all heard about it from one avenue or another.”
