The school crossing patrol service marked an important milestone with an invitation from the Mayor of Redbridge to a special event on Tuesday of last week.
Members off the crossing patrol visited Redbridge Town Hall, High Road, Ilford, to celebrate 60 years since they first began.
Those involved received a commemorative badge and certificate to mark six decades from the Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Felicity Banks, before they were taken on a tour of the building.
Cllr Banks said: “The event went very well. I think it is important to mark anniversaries like this, especially as the number of patrols seems to be reducing in numbers as other forms of traffic management are introduced instead.
“I think the event was appreciated by all who attended.”
