The fire brigade were called to Benton Road, Seven Kings, yesterday evening as high winds caused scaffolding to collapse at a school.

St Aidan’s Catholic Primary Academy is unable to open this morning as a result of the collapse, with staff hoping for debris to be cleared in time to open as usual tomorrow.

The London Fire Brigade were called at around 5pm yesterday as high winds battered the building site, causing many poles to fall to the ground.

The road was closed briefly to the public as the winds continued but there are no reported injuries.

More to follow.
