We wait all year for Santa to arrive down our chimneys then all of a sudden hundreds come along.
More than 400 people took part in the 5km Santathon at Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club to raise money for Saint Francis Hospice.
Among the runners was a group of Redbridge Volunteer Police Cadets. Redbridge youth engagement officer, PC Amanda Miller, said: “I was proud of the cadets who turned out on such a cold, damp morning to support the hospice.
“The fastest cadets completed the run in 33 minutes. We try raise money for Saint Francis Hospice when we can and some of us are looking forward to taking part in Mud n Madness in February.”
The event, which took place on December 7, raised more than £20,000 for charity.
Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club manager Wayne Burnett also took part in the race along with Dagenham 88 Runners club member Rahana Islam, from Ilford, with her son Ryder.
