A choir have put on a “deeply moving” concert to raise money for two charities.
The Salway Singers, of the Salway Church, in Forest Approach, Woodford, who put on concerts at Easter, Christmas and during the summer, held the first of two festive concerts on Wednesday.
The second will take place on Saturday at 3pm.
Around 60 people saw the group perform songs such as “Bethlehem’s Child”, backed by flautists and percussion.
Rev John Delfgou, also a Salway Singer too, said: “It was brilliant and went really well.
“We got a great response from the audience.”
Voluntary donations were made to the Mercy Ships and The Methodist Church Project in Blantyre, Malawi.
Rev Delfgou added: “The choir goes from strength to strength and the warmth of welcome really does show that Jesus did not come in vain.”
