Rush hour delay fears averted as Gants Hill traffic lights fixed
RUSH hour commuters will be able to travel through Gants Hill roundabout untroubled this evening after malfunctioning traffic lights were repaired.
Long tailbacks were reported during the morning rush hour because the lights were not able to run at “full capacity” due to a technical problem.
The issue meant the traffic lights were being controlled by pre set timers rather than according to expected traffic flows during different times of the day.
But engineers called out by Transport for London repaired the fault this afternoon, meaning drivers travelling through the roundabout along Eastern Avenue, Woodford Avenue and Cranbrook Road, should not face unexpected delays.
The traffic lights were switched on for the first time earlier this month as part of a multi-million pound transformation of the area.
