A musician and actor had fans in stitches when he launched the Redbridge Book and Media Festival.

TV star Roland Rivron appeared at Wanstead library, Spratt Hall Road, Wanstead, on April 14 to talk about his new autobiography.

The anecdotes from the book included BBC parties, living in a house with actor and comedian Rik Mayall, playing football with Diana Ross in her hotel suite and experiences of working on various TV shows.

Mr Rivron said: “This is my first book so I’m new to this but it seems like a very enjoyable environment. I’m slightly nervous as it is new and I’ve got to perform in front of people.”

Liz Calvert from Wanstead said, “I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s so convenient to find events like this locally and I’m definitely going to try to go to a few more events. I’d like to see John Virgo, and Peter Sissons too. It’s a really varied programme this year, it’s excellent.”
