People living by a bus stop that Chadwell Heath pensioners fought to get reinstated for two years are fighting to prevent it getting installed for a second time.
The bus stop was first removed from outside West View Cottages, in Chadwell Heath Lane, in 2011 because of safety concerns, leaving residents of two retirement complexes in Rosewood Court and Cunningham Close with a long walk to the nearest southbound stop.
After the issue was raised with the Redbridge Council, a pilot stop was installed outside Cunningham Close in October but withdrawn after complaints from residents.
Last month, the council finally resolved to reinstate the stop at its original location after a lengthy campaign by the pensioners. But a resident said they will be blighted by noise, litter, parking issues and antisocial behaviour.
She added: “Cunningham Close had a pilot bus stop and they too complained about the noise and litter, so I find it very hypocritical that they want the bus stop but not outside their place.”
Mrs Greenslade said she and West View Cottages residents are trying to get the decision revoked.
