A youth crime prevention and rehabilitation group has received praise from Redbridge Council following a recent inspection.

Cllr Elaine Norman, cabinet member for children and young people, visited the borough’s youth offending and targeted prevention team (YOTPS) last week to congratulate them after an outstanding report.

Inspectors found YOTPS to be performing excellently and had improved on “the high standard” of work found at the previous inspection in 2012.

Cllr Norman, said: “I’m very proud of the result of this inspection which serves to tell us what a thorough and important job our youth offending team is doing to steer young people away from crime.”
