A brass band and carol singers will be performing in Ilford town centre to raise money to tackle the borough’s rough sleeping crisis.

The Ilford Salvation Army’s choir and brass ensemble are performing on the steps of Redbridge Town Hall, in High Road, tomorrow (Friday, December 7).

The Ilford SA’s Capt John Clifton said: “The Redbridge Together Carol Service will be a perfect opportunity for people of all faiths and none to come together to remember the reason why Christians celebrate Christmas - that God became man in the form of a homeless child, born in a manger.”

The performers will be raising money for crowdfunding campaign Redbridge Together, which aims to raise £500,000 for pop-up hostel Project Malachi and day centre The Welcome Centre.

The performance runs from 4pm to 5pm and is free for community members and residents to attend.
