A teenager has been found guilty of sexually abusing a boy aged four.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was aged 14 at the time he carried out the offence in Romford.

Now aged 15, the boy had pleaded not guilty at an earlier hearing in April.

He was found guilty at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 7, of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a boy under the age of 13.

The boy bravely told his mum and grandmother what happened when they returned to their home and the police were promptly called.

The teenager was released on bail and will be sentenced on Monday, August 7.
