Four Redbridge College students are hoping to send a local R&B star on his way to national stardom after producing his music video.

The pupils from Redbridge College, Barley Lane, Little Heath, who all study BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology, filmed and edited a video for Collier Row-based artist Boistrus.

Amanda-Jane Fisher, 41, Will Ekwueme, 19, Paul MacAlesher, 37 and Mitchell West, 17, created a concept for the track, titled I Think You’re The One, before directing a two-day video shoot which was presented on Thursday.

Boistrus, whose real name is Matt Arnold, said: “I’m so pleased with the video. The college has been absolutely brilliant; within two months of first getting in touch they have presented a finished product.”

Fifty per cent of profits from the track which will be released to national music channels later this summer will be donated towards the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Adult learner Amanda-Jane, whose daughter also starred in the video, said: “Filming the video was a very full-on experience but also incredibly enjoyable. It was fantastic to be able to put some of the skills I have learnt at the college into practice.”

The college is hosting an open day on June 23. To find out more visit www.redbridge-college.ac.uk.
