Celebrations have begun at Bancroft’s School on A-level exam results day, after ten students got in to Oxbridge universities.
At the fee paying school in High Road, Woodford Green, 90 per cent of all exams were graded A* to B, while 66pc of exams were A grade or higher.
Bancroft’s top performer was Peter Andreev who tallied up six A* grades, Russian, physics, chemistry, maths, further maths and additional further maths, as well as an A in Biology.
Peter will study maths at Trinity College, University of Cambridge, after getting the top mark in the entrance exam.
It is headteacher Mary Ireland’s last A-level results day, as she is leaving at the end of August.
She said: “I am delighted that so many students have got really positive results allowing them to follow their chosen courses at university.
“These results are really encouraging and reflect the continuing hard work put in by our teachers as well as the pupils themselves.”
