A girls’ team cricket coach has been shortlisted for a community service award at a prestigious Asian awards ceremony.
Forest Gate resident Saba Nasim, 29, is a nominee at this year’s Asian Achievers Awards 2017, which return on September 22 at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
A solicitor by day, Saba coaches girls’ team the Redbridge Rangers and runs cricket sessions at Wanstead Cricket Club.
She will join an esteemed list of nominees across various fields including Vanita Patel MBE of Anti-Slavery International, England cricketer Haseeb Hameed and playwright Tanika Gupta MBE.
Mr CB Patel, publisher and editor of award organisers ABPL Group, said: “Year on year, the Asian Achievers Awards has recognised and honoured outstanding individuals, role models and pillars in our community, and once again our esteemed judges have shortlisted some remarkable nominees.”
