Help keep your bike safe by popping along to a police event this summer.

Officers will emboss a small code on your bike frame to enable it to be tracked if it is stolen and recovered.

You’ll also be given details to register your bike online so you can easily transfer ownership or report it stolen.

The events in August are: at the George Green tunnel at Wanstead tube station Saturday between 9am and 11am; at Barkingside Police Station on Barkingside High Street from noon until 6pm on the same day; on Thursday, August 15, at South Woodford tube station between 10am and 2pm; and under Griggs Approach in Ilford town centre from 1pm until 6pm on Sunday, August 25.

Cycle marking events will also be held at Wanstead Festival on Christchurch Green in Wanstead High Street on Sunday, September 15 between 11am and 5pm; and on Sunday, September 22, between 10am and 4pm at Redbridge Police Open Day in Barkingside High Street.
