Two of Redbridge’s MPs have spoken out about a possible 11 per cent rise in their salaries.
Lee Scott and Mike Gapes said the news surrounding the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority’s recommendations, due to be announced tomorrow, was just speculation.
Conservative Mr Scott, who represents Ilford North, said: “In truth, it is not going to happen. I don’t think it is going to go through.”
Mr Gapes, Labour MP for Ilford South, said: “I will look at them [the proposals] when I see them, but the important thing to realise is that this is not to do with MPs; it is something which is out of our control.”
